Communities Acting for Kids Empowerment

Communities Acting for Kids Empowerment (CAKE)—a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded project—aims to promote early childhood wellness in Roselawn and Carthage, two underserved Cincinnati neighborhoods. With a collaborative and participatory strategy in place, the creators turned to Michelle D’Cruz to design a logo that would resonate and be easily amplified at the neighborhood level. Our community partners guided the design process to reflect their mission, values, and goals.

The resulting identity system embodies warmth, inclusion, empowerment, and strength.
