In 2019, our design team was asked to join forces with professional designers across the city. The goal: to co-create flags for and with each of Cincinnati’s 52 neighborhoods. Working alongside community members, we learned the history of each neighborhood, collected input, design inspiration and feedback, and worked to capture the distinct character and identity of each of seven neighborhoods.
Our team co-branded seven neighborhoods— Carthage, College Hill, Northside, Mount Airy, Winton Hills, Spring Grove Village, and Hartwell.
We learned about our communities through online surveys, neighborhood visits, and workshops with residents—working collaboratively to conceptualize, revise and refine each design.
Final flags were presented at a citywide event at Findlay Market.
